Using ChefScribe
ChefScribe uses a supported YouTube cooking video’s title and description, together with the preferences you provide, to generate a new recipe inspired by the dish. It does not inspect or verify the ingredients or steps shown in the video. Features may differ by platform. YouTube Shorts are supported.
ChefScribe is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, involve a parent or guardian before purchasing a subscription.
Accounts and access
Use the sign-in options shown in ChefScribe, including Google or Apple where offered. Keep your account secure and use the same sign-in method across devices to access the same library and subscription. Do not share or resell account access, bypass usage limits, interfere with security or use automated bulk requests.
Recipe cards, sharing and creator rights
Recipe cards are AI-generated interpretations and can contain errors. Review ingredients, quantities, temperatures and instructions against the original source before cooking. Nutrition is an estimate.
Rights in source videos, images and other protected material remain with their respective owners. Attribution does not itself grant permission to reproduce protected content. Do not remove source credit, misrepresent authorship or publish content you do not have the right to share. ChefScribe does not guarantee that a particular use qualifies for a copyright exception.
Recipes derived from public videos may appear in the public recipe library. Do not enter sensitive personal information in recipe fields. Sharing a public link makes the linked content accessible to other people.
Plans, payment and renewal
The Free plan includes 12 recipe creations per month. Pro includes 100 recipe creations per month, subject to safeguards against abuse. The price, currency, billing period and included features shown at checkout apply to your purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next renewal. Website payments are processed through Stripe; purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple. ChefScribe does not receive your full payment-card details. Do not purchase a second subscription to resolve a missing-access problem; contact us first.
Cancellation and refunds
You can stop renewal through the billing controls for the service where you purchased. For website purchases, use your ChefScribe account billing controls or email support@chefscribe.com. For Apple purchases, use your Apple subscription settings. Access normally continues to the end of the paid period after you stop renewal. Deleting an account or uninstalling an app is not a substitute for cancelling a subscription.
Any statutory cancellation and refund rights remain in place, including applicable 14-day cancellation rights for distance contracts. Starting to use ChefScribe does not by itself waive those rights. Where the law permits a charge for a service started at your express request, only a lawful proportionate charge may apply. Any exception for digital content requires the legally required express consent and acknowledgement.
For website refunds, email your purchase date and receipt reference to support@chefscribe.com. For an Apple purchase, you can request a refund at Apple Report a Problem. These routes do not limit your legal rights.
Service changes and account restrictions
Maintenance, faults and changes to third-party services can interrupt access or recipe creation. We may restrict misuse or suspend an account where reasonably necessary for security or a material breach of these terms. Contact support if you think a restriction is mistaken.
We will explain material changes to paid plans or these terms before they affect you where required, including any right to cancel. Changes do not remove rights relating to an existing purchase.
Our responsibilities and your rights
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory rights relating to services and digital content are unaffected.
ChefScribe is a cooking aid and does not provide medical advice or certify food as safe or allergen-free. Follow the original recipe, ingredient labels and appropriate food-safety guidance.
